 October 2011Empire State Games On Friday October 15th Kendall Central Schools sent 14 students to the Empire State Games for the physically challenged at Brockport State College. The feeling of excitement and anticipation was felt as soon as the students arrived in the auditorium to assemble before our departure. On the bus ride there the anticipation was mounting. This was Mr. Laureano’s first trip to the games in about 10 years. “I really enjoyed seeing all of the smiles on the kids faces and was very proud of all of our athletes. They showed determination and it was apparent in the number of medals we won total.” The athletes brought home a total of 84 medals and ribbons. Mrs. Judy Weber was able to stop over and show her support for the kids. This was the 25th year that she has been bringing athletes to the games and that deserves a huge thank you! Tyler Banker was asked to start off the ceremonies by leading the entire group of athletes, fans, and family in the Pledge of Allegiance. Donovyn Delvin was also honored by being asked to enter the arena with the Empire State banner. Nice job to all and congratulations! |
