From the Elementary Principal . . .
The beginning of 2012 has brought very little snow and
moderate temperatures to the area and hopefully that
will continue for the time being. The Elementary School
has been in full swing since the Winter recess.
Teachers in Kindergarten through sixth grade are
focusing on the new Common Core Standards,
especially in math and English Language Arts (ELA).
Students in grades 3-6 are also beginning to review for
the assessments in early April.
Please keep in mind that many teachers like to take
their students outside for a few minutes if the weather is
decent. Please make sure that your child comes to school
with appropriate outdoor clothing. We all know that
fresh air is good for us but we don’t want the children to
get cold. Any child who does not have proper clothing or
who is just getting over an illness will not go outside.

 Important Morning Arrival Information
If you are driving your children to school in the morning and you want them to eat breakfast at school, please plan to arrive after 8:30am unless they have been invited to a special morning program. Otherwise, students should not arrive prior to 8:40am. Although teachers start their day at 8:15, they use this time to meet with other teachers, prepare materials, meet with support staff or meet with the principal. Teachers are not available to supervise children during this time.
For security and safety purposes students and visitors are not permitted to walk around the school during regular school hours, unless they have signed in at the elementary office and go to a specific area. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the elementary office.

Elementary Bus Loop Reminder Due to safety concerns, parents are reminded to drop off students in the front of the school rather than in the parking lot. Those who have business at school may continue to park in the parking lot. Those who wish to escort their child into the school, please pull up to the front of the loop and park on the right side of the driveway. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact the Principal, Mr. Wright 659-8317.
