April 13, 2010, ten Kendall students traveled with staff and parents to Italy and Greece. Their adventure began in Rome were they visited the Roman Forum, the Coliseum, the Vatican, the Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps. They enjoyed gelato and relaxing in the Piazza Nouvona. Everyone made sure to throw coins in the Trevi Fountain to assure we will return to Rome some day.

In Florence we toured Renaissance collections by the finest Artists of the time, wandered down Medieval - aged streets, and saw the Monastery of San Marco where Savonarola wrote and Fra Angelica painted.

The next morning it was off to Venice for a serenaded gondola ride through the canals of this romantic city. We ate dinner in the shade of the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal. We toured the Palace of the Doge, the Bridge of Sighs and St Mark's Square. We left the next morning for the Ferry to Greece.

We landed in Patras, Greece the following evening in time for al fresco dinning in a local Traverna. In the morning we tour Ancient Olympia, the site of the first Olympic games.

Then it was on to the city of Nauplia, and a visit to the Theatre of Epidaurus. This ancient theatre is still used today for concerts and plays. Mr. Turbeville, Tyler Smith and Liz Longrod all had a chance to stand on the stage and perform for the crowd. In the morning we tour the ancient site of Mycenae and Corinth. In the Afternoon it was on to Athens.

Our first afternoon in Athens the group went across the street from our hotel to visit the beach and swim in the Aegean Sea. We relaxed in anticipation of the full day to follow. In the morning we toured the Roman ruins from Hadrian's rule, the roman Olympic site, and the Plaka. We walked up to the Acropolis and toured the famous ancient ruins. In the evening we returned to the Plaka for authentic Greek Kababs and a little shopping.

Our last day in Athens began with a visit to the Ancient Agora historical site. Students enjoyed exploring the Agora, and Anafiotika area. In the evening we returned to the Plaka for a farewell dinner with traditional Greek food & dancing.
