Strong Memorial Hospital
Strong is offering a Summer Volunteer Program for students 14 years of age and older.
    · Time commitment: 10 week program, 3-4 hours per week (June 28th through September 4th)
    · Students may start calling Friends of Strong on April 30th for a summer placement appointment.

Rochester General Health Systems is offering a Summer Volunteer Internship Program for students 14 years of age and older.
Three, 3-week Summer Student Volunteer Internships will be offered:
     1. Session #1: June 28-July 16 (Application deadline of May 7th)
     2. Session #2: July 19-August 6 (Application deadline of June 4th)
     3. Session #3: August 9-August 27 (Application deadline of July 1st)

2010 Summer Research Program for High School Juniors
The laboratory for Laser Energetics at the University of Rochester will be holding a summer research program for high school students who have just completed their junior year. The program will begin July 6th and continue through August 27th. See someone in the counseling office for details and applications.

Summer Leaders Seminar 2010
The United States Military Academy will host two sessions of the 35th Annual Summer Leaders Seminar in 2010. The Summer Leaders Seminar provides outstanding high school juniors the exiting opportunity to gain a better understanding of the academic, physical, military, and leadership development programs at a service academy that features small classes, caring faculty, professional career preparation, and a foundation for future graduate study.

To apply for the Summer Leaders Seminar, students should visit their website http://admissions.usma.edu. Click on Summer Program then Summer Leaders Seminar. Brochures are also available in the Counseling Office.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Summer Camp 2010
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) offers an exceptional summer opportunity for youth 12 to 17 years old who are interested in spending a week outdoors learning about the environment. DEC operates four residential environmental education camps across the state: Camps Colby and Pack Forest in the Adirondacks, Camp DeBruce in the Catskills, and Camp Rushford in Western New York. All four camps serve youth who are 12 to 14 years old. In addition, camps Pack Forest and Rushford also offer a week-long enhanced Teen Ecology Workshop for 15 to 17 year-olds.
