JV Boys' Soccer Undefeated After Four Games
Kendall's JV Boys' Soccer team has had a successful start to their season. Led by captains Danny Miller and Richie Swift the team defeated Mt. Morris 3 goals to 1 on Sept. 1, opening the season with a win and advancing to the championship game of the tournament. Scoring Kendall's first goal of the season was Dan Miller with a head ball off of Justin Barrett's excellent cross. Sage Summers and Will Condo added goals from assists by Deandre Nauden and Riley Iqbal.

Next we faced Byron-Bergen in the championship game on Sept. 3. Playing in stifling heat, the entire team played very hard. Will Condo and Deandre Nauden scored goals and the team ended regulation time and the overtime periods tied 2 to 2. In the tie breaking PK shoot-out, goals were scored by Justin Barrett, Will Condo, and Riley Iqbal. The game's MVP was goalie Garrett Love.

Our success continued with wins over Holley and Albion. Scoring goals were Riley Iqbal, Josh Allaart, Sage Summers, and Deandre Nauden. Assists were earned by Justin Barrett, Riley Iqbal, Dan Miller, and Will Condo.

The defense of Richie Swift, Matt Schuth, Tyler Johnson, Zach Vogt, Riley Reis, Will Condo, and Garrett Love have allowed only four goals so far. In addition to midfielders Dan, Deandre, Sage, and Josh, the hard play of Gordan Tonas, Joe Robb, Keith Sayler, Dustin Furness, Jon Steffen, Skyler Heller, D'Andre Helms and David Hardenbrook have allowed us to outshoot opponents 2 to 1. We look forward to the remainder of the season.

The Kendall Varsity boys placed 2nd in a very tough Kendall Tournament
We opened our season with a 4-1 victory over Mt. Morris. Scoring for the Eagles were Kyle Shaw, Mike Nauden, Alex Sutphen, and Bryan Urquhardt. Assisting for the Eagles were Kyle Shaw, Mike Nauden, and Tim Elphick. This victory placed us in the championship of our tournament giving us our first opportunity to do so since 2005. We played a very physical and well organized championship match against Byron-Bergen. The game was tied 0-0 at the end of regulation and neither team scored in overtime. Unfortunately the Eagles lost 6-5 in Penalty Kicks. Although we placed 2nd in our tournament we played very well. Our attackers had many opportunities to score with their speed coupled with ball skill. Our defense played stellar physical soccer and won the majority of 50-50 balls, and our mid fielders played very good possession throughout the tournament. It was a very good start to the 2011 soccer season, and we're looking forward to our next games....one at a time.
