Kindergarten Screening
Kindergarten screening appointments will be arranged at the time of registration.
Screening will take place between June 29 and July 2, 2010.

All kindergarten students will be given a screening test called the Dial-3. The test will give the school information about developmental skills such as how the child uses his or her body (motor skills), knowledge of basic concepts like counting and colors (conceptual skills), and language. The child's behavior during screening will also be noted, i.e. Did he or she listen to directions? Was he or she fidgeting?

Important information about the child's self-help and social skills will be gathered using a parent questionnaire that will be completed on screening day.

The skills described above have proven important in predicting a child's success in the classroom. Our staff looks forward to meeting parents and their children at this screening.
